

FIABCI-Malaysia Morning Talk Explores Investment Opportunities in Iskandar Malaysia and JS-SEZ
FIABCI-Malaysia, hosted an insightful Morning Talk session on the transformative potential of Iskandar Malaysia and the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), on 7 May 2025 at Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort. The event brought together industry leaders and investors, to discuss the region’s strategic advantages and growth prospects.
Highlights:
- Iskandar Malaysia: Spanning 2,300 km², the region has attracted RM454.5 billion in committed investments (2006–2024) and targets RM636 billion by 2030. Its Comprehensive Development Plan III (2022–2030) emphasizes a high-value economy, climate resilience, and integrated urban living, with goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70% and boost GDP growth to 5.5–6.5%.
- JS-SEZ: Launched in collaboration with Singapore, the 3,588 km² zone offers competitive incentives, including a 5% corporate tax rate for 15 years and streamlined cross-border trade. Targeting 11 sectors—from logistics to green economy—it aims to create 20,000 skilled jobs and achieve 7–8% GDP growth by 2030.
- Investment Facilitation: The Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor (IMFC-J) accelerates approvals, reducing processing times by 10 months, and supports investors with end-to-end services.
The session concluded with a Q&A session, fostering connections among stakeholders keen to leverage the region’s growth.
