FIABCI Delegation gathers in Asia
The month of July was dedicated to celebrating the "crème de la crème" of real estate in Asia.
First stop: Taiwan
The 2019 FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner was the icing on the cake of a five-day program that included tours to award-winning developments, business presentations (GREM - Global Real Estate Market), official visits to governmental representatives and city trips to Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung.
The FIABCI delegation of 15 members started their visit to Taiwan on July 16th in Taipei, where they had the chance to see for themselves the 2019 FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards Gold Winner under the office category, Univention Landmark. The following day, a briefing by the Department of Urban Development of the Taipei City Government was scheduled, before the delegation headed to the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel, where the 14th edition of the awards presentation and gala dinner took place later that day.
FIABCI-Taiwan Real Estate Excellence Awards
FIABCI World President Walid Moussa opened the ceremony, congratulating the Chapter's ongoing efforts to raise the profile of FIABCI in the region, as well as highlighting the importance of the awards in showcasing the best in property development, both on a national and international levels.
A special moment of the evening followed when Mr. Moussa distributed the awards along with Vice Prime Minister of Taiwan Chen Shui-bian and the Minister of Interior Hsu Kuo-yung to those who were recognized at the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards, during the 70th World Real Estate Congress in Moscow, Russia.
Other high-level guests were among the audience, including local authorities (Ministers and Deputy Mayor of Taipei) and representatives of local and national associations and corporations.
City visits: Kaohsiung and Taichung
After Taipei, it was time to visit Kaohsiung, from July 18th to 20th. The first stop was the award-winning HH Tower Kaohsiung, one of the most luxurious residential properties of southern Taiwan, followed by Kha Shing Pier 22 Marina. Indeed, the next two days were busy ones for the FIABCI delegation: from a meeting with the mayor of Kaohsiung Han Kuo-yu at the Fongshan Government Center to several property tours and, last but not least, an evening dedicated to the presentation of GREM - Global Real Estate Market by the Head of B2B Communications Kateryna Pylypchuk.
To wrap up the five-day program in Taiwan, the delegation visited Taichung. Once the host of FIABCI global events, the city is also home to the 2019 FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards Gold Winner under the residential (mid rise) category, Happiness Gendii.
The FIABCI members met with the City Mayor Lu Xiuyan and former Mayor Hu Zhiqiang with whom they discussed business and investment possibilities in Taichung and Taiwan more broadly, as well as the great hospitality the delegation had received throughout the visit.
Inaugural celebration of excellence in Thai real estate
Following a very successful trip to Taiwan, the delegation headed to Thailand where a forum and awards presentation would later take place.
The forum focused on "Foreign Direct Investment, Blockchain and Innovation" and gathered key real estate players that discussed these topics while providing updates on their respective countries. GREM - Global Real Estate Market Head of B2B Communications Kateryna Pylypchuk followed with a presentation in blockchain and innovation with a focus on the Asian market, adding that the industry is increasingly more adoptive to PropTech solutions and more attentive to technologies of the future. "We are relying on the future collaboration with the Association of Real Estate Appraisers of Thailand and other associated real estate professional networks for mutual partnerships.", she added.
After this session, the FIABCI delegation headed to the 2019 FIABCI-Thai Prix d'Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner, an evening attended by high-level representatives, including H.R.H Prince of Kutai Mulawarman Kingdom and the Pemanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance in Thailand Mr. Prasong Poontaneat, who delivered a speech on housing policies in Thailand. Before the award ceremony and cultural shows there was still time for speeches delivered by FIABCI-Thailand President Dr. Sopon Pornchokchai, World President Walid Moussa, Secretary-General Narek Arakelyan, and FIABCI Award Committee President Dr. Yu Ke Su.
