The World Prix d’Excellence Awards competition raises the profile of the property industry by showcasing innovations and best practices. It also reminds all parties of the important contributions made by the real property industry. Awards winners benefit from the significant public interest generated and from associated marketing opportunities.
FIABCI World President, Antonio Campanoli, congratulated all winners and remarked that “The FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards continues to stand as a global benchmark for excellence, recognizing projects that truly make a difference. It is a privilege to once again celebrate the remarkable achievements of our industry through the 2026 edition of this prestigious award, which brings together outstanding developments from across the world.”
He further remarked: “More than ever, our industry is being called upon to lead with purpose. Sustainability, resilience, and inclusivity are no longer aspirations - they are expectations. Excellence in real estate can no longer be measured only by the quality of buildings, but by the ability to create systems that connect people, capital and communities.”
The FIABCI World President highlighted the impressive range of projects recognized this year, noting their creativity, technical expertise, and strong sense of responsibility towards people and the planet. From innovative urban solutions to thoughtfully designed communities, these developments reflect the evolving priorities of the real estate sector - where success is measured not only by design and functionality, but by long-term impact and sustainability.
He continued to added that across diverse markets and environments, industry professionals continue to respond to changing global needs with resilience and vision. The integration of sustainable practices, the emphasis on user-centric design, and the growing role of technology are shaping a new era of development, one that is more inclusive, adaptive, and forward-looking.
Antonio concluded that, “as we celebrate these achievements, let us continue to challenge ourselves, not only to build better projects, but to activate ecosystems that generate lasting value for people, cities and societies.”
Whereas, the President of FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards Committee, Laszlo Gonczi, noting that this year’s competition featured an exceptionally strong field, and selecting the winners from among excellent projects was no easy task. He also congratulates not only the winners but all participants, as the developers invested effort and delivered outstanding work in realizing these projects.
He added that the history of the competition reflects the evolution of the profession, showing that developers increasingly value environmentally sustainable solutions. During the organization of the competition, it was possible to overcome the impact of economic difficulties. At the most critical moment, Dato Alan Tong saved the competition through his financial and organizational support. For several years, the Prix d’Excellence Secretariat organized the competition. Through significant effort, they developed an organizational system aligned with modern standards.
He further said that Prix d’Excellence Awards is a competition where David can defeat Goliath, as the winner is determined not by the size of the development, but by its quality. A prime example is the Zangla Solar School, built at an altitude of 4,000 meters in a Himalayan village by Hungarian designers, involving local residents and using local materials. This school, roughly the size of a family house, won the gold medal in the Environmental Category in 2021. Among the winners, there are naturally many world-famous buildings, such as the Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and Trump Tower, as well as many outstanding yet previously lesser-known developments.
He concluded that there are many international competitions worldwide focused on specific sectors (such as architecture, construction, marketing, etc.), but the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence selects its winners based on a comprehensive evaluation of the entire development process. The main judging criteria include concept, architecture, financing and marketing, sustainability, and social impact. In addition to categories based on the function of the development, such as residential buildings, office buildings, and hotels etc., heritage conservation and sustainable development categories are also of great importance.
