Jordi Ribó installed as FIABCI World President
Jordi Ribó, a real estate broker, manager, and developer from Andorra is the new FIABCI World President for the term 2021-2022, succeeding Florentino Dulalia from the Philippines, and preceding Susan Greenfield from the USA.
The new World President was officially installed during the Transition Ceremony, which marks the end of a term and the beginning of a new one. Traditionally held at the end of the FIABCI World Real Estate Congress, it took place this year at the end of FIABCI Real Estate Days on June 3rd, following an unprecedented year that rendered it impossible for the World Congress to be organized on the dates originally planned.
In his first presidential address, the newly elected President stated: “Real estate is not a profession, it’s not a sector of the economy. It’s even something more than an industry, it’s one of the pillars of the societies it’s based on. Hence the importance of an organization such as ours, that gathers more than 40 different professions, national associations from more than 70 countries and over a million associate members.”
Speaking about the challenge of sustainable development and the role of the industry, FIABCI World President Jordi Ribó also said: “In the 21st century, the target of any country is not only growing for the sake of it, and therefore the aim of business people should be more than making money just for the sake of making money. It is or should be to create, to contribute, to build a stronger, more prosperous, more sustainable world because if we are, as I mentioned before, one of the foundations our society is built on, we have to take our share of the world’s challenges to try to be always part of the solution. This is the approach that my team and I are willing to implement during this year.”
