A delegation of 150 members and partners from about 40 countries gathered at the FIABCI Pavilion, located on the 4th floor of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, for four days of high-level conferences, networking opportunities, and successful meetings. The 2023 edition of FIABCI at MIPIM was dedicated to the theme “Building for the Future”, in line with that of the upcoming 73rd FIABCI World Real Estate Congress happening from 5 to 9 June in Miami. Our main partner this year was Harley&Dikkinson, a financial services Italian company that provides taxation, guarantee arrangers, fintech, and advisory solutions. H&D is also a FIABCI Strategic Partner and FIABCI-Italia Principal Member.
From insightful presentations focused on biobased solutions for the future and PropTech trends to dynamic panel discussions on sustainability in construction and better property investments, there was something for every real estate professional's taste at the FIABCI Pavilion. A livestream of the Harley&Dikkinson’s panel discussion The integration of the supply chain for a new sustainability in construction: the Italian case history can be found here.
Outside of the FIABCI Pavilion, the International Real Estate Federation took part in the UN-Habitat and World Urban Campaign panel discussion 1000 Cities 1 Billion Lives to brainstorm high-impact actions, in light of global pressing issues, and the critical role of urban innovators, real estate and operators in cities around the world. In representation of our organisation, World President Susan Greenfield talked about the role of real estate in promoting better cities and trends in high-impact projects, while FIABCI-Emirates President Dr Mahmoud AlBurai spoke about the urban transformation in the Middle East and new directions for high impact and sustainability.
FIABCI also marked its presence at the Estates Gazette (EG) Pavilion, where World President Susan Greenfield and World President 2007-2008 Julian Josephs discussed creating a better future for business, society and the natural world, along with World Urban Campaign Coordinator Christine Auclair, Royal Town Planning Institute President Sue Bridge, and DWF Partner Melanie Williams.
In parallel with the conferences programme, other special events took place, such as the traditional FIABCI Gala Dinner and the FIABCI Board of Directors Meeting, both at the Majestic Hotel in Cannes.
This year’s Gala Dinner, traditionally hosted on the evening before MIPIM starts, was an exclusive celebration coupled with fine food and live music preceding the busy and energetic feel of the world’s leading real estate market event. Harley&Dikkinson was the 2023 Special Host of this glamorous soirée, which reunited distinguished guests, including a delegation from Saudi Arabia (Eye of Riyadh), France, and Italy, as well as a PropTech delegation, spearheaded by the president of the World Council of PropTech, Rafat Chabaane. World President Susan Greenfield, MIPIM Marketing Director Mathieu Regnault and H&D President Alessandro Ponti welcomed the guests with special remarks.
Since 1991, MIPIM has been an important global event and meeting point for FIABCI, and we look forward to returning to Cannes next year.
A special thank you to the FIABCI Strategic Partner Harley&Dikkinson, as well as all global partners, event partners, suppliers, speakers, members, and visitors for contributing to another successful edition of FIABCI at MIPIM.
