Affordable Housing in Taiwan: A Report on Policy, Finance, Technology and Sheltering
The astonishing population growth is a global pressing issue reflected in the urgent need of affordable housing, or in other words, the need to build millions of housing units for sale or for rent at an affordable price.
In Taiwan, the affordable housing topic has been in the center of many in-depth discussions related to justice and social housing for several years. It is believed that a public-private partnership holds the key to the success to tackle this issue, through the public's participation as well as financial support from the government.
Against the backdrop of World Habitat Day 2018 celebrated on October 1 and the initiative “A Global Dialogue on Affordable Housing: Policy, Finance, Technology & Sheltering”, FIABCI-Taiwan released a report reviewed and complied by the Chapter's Vice-President Lily Chang outlining the most important conclusions of the forum.
