Business Description The Home Development Mutual Fund – created in 1978 under Presidential Decree No. 1530, made into a public independent corporation in 1980 under Presidential Decree No. 1752, and expanded in 2009 by Republic Act No. 9679 to include more types of members – is the government’s key shelter agency which administers the provident fund savings of its members, the Filipino workers. More popularly known as the Pag-IBIG Fund, it provides savings mechanisms and access to decent shelter to its 13.5 million members. Aside from the regular membership savings, Pag-IBIG Fund also offers the five-year higher-yield Modified Pag-IBIG II as a supplementary savings program. It also credits annual dividends to its members’ savings, declaring PhP9.28 Billion worth of dividends in 2012, at a dividend rate of 4.17%.
Pag-IBIG Fund offers two housing programs to cater to members from both ends of the income spectrum, with loan amount up to PhP6 Million for as low as 6.985% annual interest for the regular program and loan amount up to PhP750,000 for as low as 4.5% annual interest for the affordable program. In its 33-year history, Pag-IBIG Fund has served almost one million housing loan borrowers, more than 26 million multi-purpose loan borrowers, and almost four million calamity loan borrowers as of December 2013. Its total assets have reached PhP344.97 Billion last December 2013.
