Education > FIABCI Certificate
The mark of professional real estate excellence at an international level:
FIABCI Certificate
This unique Certificate is awarded to members who have satisfied the most stringent
standards of excellence in their field and have shown that they are active participants
in the challenging new world of international real estate. The Certificate FIABCI
is a concrete illustration of the FIABCI ideal of "providing society with the
optimal solution to its property needs". The Certificate is not a simple designation
awarded against payment of a fee, but an exclusive recognition awarded only to those
who have demonstrated the skills and experience needed to make things happen in
real estate internationally: to earn the right to use the Cert. FIABCI title is
therefore a considerable achievement and a coveted privilege.

FIABCI education in 21st Century
The federations education program has embraced Honorary President for the Americas,
E. Rene Franks (1920-2006) idea of partnering professors with practitioners to deliver
real world relevance in the classroom. The certificate program has been upgraded
and now requires additional hours of class time, plus FIABCI has developed a diploma
program, known as Dipl. FIABCI, wherein FIABCI partners with qualified universities
to present an enhanced international real estate education.
The inaugural class of sixty-four students received the Dipl. FIABCI on February
25, 2005 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in partnership with La Universidad Pedagogica
Nacional Francisco Morazan following the completion of an extensive three year international
real estate program consisting of over one hundred sixty hours of study.
FIABCI Professors, Ari Feldman (FIABCI-Mexico) and Mauro Gabriele (FIABCI-USA) presented
the final two-day program needed to fulfill the Cert. FIABCI requirements for one
hundred eight students in Guatemala City, Guatemala on February 27, 2005. Thanks
to Rene, the FIABCI education program is well underway in Latin America, and is
being implemented elsewhere as FIABCI University partnerships develop.
FIABCI Academic Members, Michael A. Anikeeff of Johns Hopkins University and John
Zdanowicz of the Jerome Bains Real Estate Institute at Florida International University
have been instrumental with assistance and ideas, and FIABCI Professor, Mark L.
Levine of The Burns School of Real Estate at The University of Denver has shaped
the international programs direction and is the Dean of FIABCI University. His recent
work, International Real Estate, A Comparative Approach, published by Dearborn Real
Estate Education, has become known internationally as The FIABCI Book.
Diploma and Certificate holders are encouraged to join FIABCI Universitys Alumni
